High-performance Marine Concrete typically incorporates a triple-blend binder, made up of GP (or HE) Cement, Microsilica 600 and Huntly Fly Ash. A binder combination like this can make the concrete self-compacting; giving the further advantages of very low sorptivity, high electrical resistivity and low chloride ion permeability.
If the concrete cover is adequate, a 100-year design life in a marine environment can be achieved with Microsilica 600 and GP Cement. Ask GBC for their advice on durable concrete.
